The appearance of an account and its informativeness are some of the key points in presenting a product or service, as well as an effective tool for building a company's image. Both components affect not only how many people sign up for an account as part of a campaign, but also how many of them end up becoming your customers.

In order to prepare your profile for promotion, you should switch to a Professional account. If you haven't already done so, it's time to do it — it literally takes a couple of clicks. Go to settings to switch the account type and start tracking statistics.

In this article, we'll tell you how to design your profile so that it actively attracts customers, increases traffic, and builds awareness of your brand.

How to choose a handle for your account

For a business account, choose a brand name. If you're building a personal brand, use your name + your occupation (@stellamua — Stella makeup artist). If you're sharing specific content, choose a handle that emphasizes what kind of content you're going to share, like @cryptolover.

For the handle to be easily remembered and quickly recognized, it must be simple. Follow these rules:

❗️ Brevity. Keep the number of extra characters to a minimum. Don't add numbers or extra characters unless necessary.

❗️ Avoid complex spelling. If your name is hard to pronounce, try shortening it to something simpler like @sogaard instead of @sorenkierkegaard.

❗️ Multiple vowels in a row are a no.

❗️ Avoid underscores and periods. Users may forget where to put them, or even click on the wrong account.

❗️ Pay attention to the handles of your competitors. For example, if you type ‘LA autosport’ into search, you'll see a lot of accounts with different variations of handles composed of these keywords. Try to stand out from the other accounts in the query.

Profile Description

Potential clients assess the content of the account by the description in the header and decide whether to interact with the profile or not, so an easy-to-read and well-designed header is very important.

A header consists of a profile image, the account handle & name, and a description of the account. The text part of the header should convey the account's theme, location, contact methods (phone number, messengers, e-mail), working hours (if offline), and other important mentions such as handles of related accounts, link to your website, promotions, shipping information, etc.

❗️ Important when promoting: don't forget to add a link to your site or a landing page where the customer can proceed to pay.

Selecting a profile image

When choosing a profile image, choose a high-quality image that reflects the blog's theme. If you're promoting a personal brand, it's a good idea to use your own photo as a profile image.

Companies and brands, of course, choose their own logo.

If the profile belongs to a nano, micro or small business, we recommend placing aclear product image as your profile image. When you grow and gain subscribers and customers, you can create your own logo and put it in place of the product image.

Account Name

If you run a personal brand account, simply include your full name. Business accounts usually include keywords in the account name to increase the likelihood of being found in search queries.

Content

Well-designed, quality content will help your brand stand out.

When a user opens an account, they don’t see the text of the posts, they only see thumbnails of images and evaluate the account according to their impression of said images. For this reason, it is recommended to take seriously the visual component of the account – your efforts will pay off.

You can use App For Type, Canva, Adobe Photoshop Express, InShot to design your feed and highlights. Use LightShot to take screenshots.

If you want to shift the responsibility of visual design to someone else, you can always hire a content designer, photographer, illustrator, and other professionals to achieve better promotion results.

Now, there are several types of content that you need to be aware of:

⚫️ Feed posts

🟣 Stories & Highlights

🔵 Reels

🟠 Live Broadcasts

Make a content plan for your convenience. This is a calendar of posts that you can plan in advance. Use Canva or any other service for this.

Feed posts

When an influencer promotes you through their Stories, potential customers will start visiting your account in greater numbers. Your task is to attract attention and inspire enough confidence so that people end up making a purchase.

To design the profile well, define the basic colors, concepts, elements in the images, etc. In the end, all posts should add up to a beautiful mosaic that attracts the customer's attention.

It's your choice whether to use a single color scheme or place your posts in a more chaotic order. The important thing is to make sure that the feed reflects your product in the best way possible.

Stories

This is a temporary type of content that "lives" for 24 hours and in which you can announce a new post, shoot a video or post a photo. Most of the activity and traffic in the app comes through Stories, so many platforms offer placements from bloggers there, like instajet.io, where you can quickly spread the word about your product by ordering placements from dozens of bloggers in Stories.

InstaJet also gives you access to an extensive catalog of bloggers of all sorts of backgrounds, ready to promote to different target audiences. See how easy it is to work with the service by reading the instructions on how to create a project with a blogger at instajet.io.

Highlights

When creating Highlights, you can choose any stories from your archive, select a cover for your highlight and give it a name. Once you’re done, your highlight will appear as a circle on your profile that plays as a stand-alone story when someone taps it. Highlights stay on your profile until you remove them, and you can have as many highlights as you’d like.

Use this feature to display additional important information: price list, schedule, reviews, detailed information about a product or service, etc.

Reels

Compared to regular Feed posts, Reels pop into Recommendations section more frequently. Thanks to this, your video will be watched not only by your subscribers but also by an external audience. This allows you to promote for free — increasing your reach and subscriber count at the same time.

Let's recap

So, before you launch a campaign through blogger accounts, you should:

✅ Create a business profile or convert a personal one to a professional one;
